Fmr. Chelsea and Tottenham Coach, AVB quits football for this Job!

Former Chelsea manager Andre Villa-Boas is quitting his current management role at Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG to become a rally driver. Yes, you really did read that correctly.

Having struggled during his time managing in the Premier League and after exiling himself to the Chinese Super League we really did not foresee ourselves writing about the Portuguese manager anytime soon. The only way he could become news worthy again would be if he was to pull an absolutely wild stunt such as quitting football to become a rally drive competing in South America. And, that – is just what he has done.

A report from the Sun has stated that Villas-Boas will go on to compete in the Dakar rally, driving a Toyota Hilux. The event will take place in January next year and will go through countries such as Peru, Argentina and Bolivia.

EPL Table: 2017 Week 14

Manchester City restored their eight-point lead at the Premier League summit after Raheem Sterling snatched an injury-time strike to win 2-1 against Southampton. Elsewhere, Mohamed Salah netted a brace off the bench as Liverpool beat Stoke City 3-0, while Chelsea edged Swansea City 1-0.

Arsenal's attack launched into overdrive on Wednesday as no fewer than four Gunners got on the scoreline to complete a one-sided 5-0 rout of Huddersfield Town at the Emirates Stadium.

Alexandre Lacazette's quick strike put the north Londoners one goal up at the break before an Olivier Giroud brace along with strikes from Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez rounded off a morale-boosting result in the second half.

Burnley made the most of Tottenham Hotspur's Tuesday loss at Leicester City and beat Bournemouth 2-1 to leap above the north Londoners into sixth spot, and Everton demolished West Ham United 4-0 on the back of a Wayne Rooney hat-trick.

Automakers shift to SUVs as consumers steer clear of Sedans

Auto sales for 2017 were strong going into the last two shopping months of the year, bolstered largely by high transaction prices and the increasing popularity of SUVs and trucks -- as passenger car sales fell.

As the year draws to a close, auto companies are again celebrating a near-record number of cars and trucks sold and a near-record average transaction price per vehicle.

But the news isn’t all good. New car sales for 2017 have been marked by demand for SUVs rising to unprecedented heights, while interest in traditional passenger cars has plummeted.

Many car companies that sell both kinds of vehicles have gained sales in one segment only to lose them in another. Manufacturers that lean more toward passenger cars could soon be stuck with factories and production lines making vehicles no one wants. If the trend continues, cars that once led sales segments could disappear altogether.

“This may mean that some successful car models are on the chopping block,” said Kelley Blue Book se…

Former Kano State Governor, Senator Kwankwaso tells his Supporters to dump APC for PDP-Nephew

A former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has given the go-ahead to his supporters to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), his nephew, Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, has said.

Reacting to the report that pressure was being mounted on Kwankwaso to decamp, he said it was Kwankwaso that was ready to decamp to the PDP for the actualisation of his presidential ambition since he could not achieve it in the APC.

Daily Trust had exclusively reported that big wigs in the PDP were mounting pressure on the former governor, who came second in the last presidential primaries of the APC, to decamp.

Iliyasu Kwankwaso, who is the Commissioner for Special Duties in Kano State, said already, Kwankwaso had asked his supporters to join the PDP.

“Already, he has given the go-ahead to his supporters to join the PDP in Kano State so that they can contest in the forthcoming local government election in the state. But what I can assure him …

Why Toke Makinwa cannot stop dating the Billionaire?

If you’ve been following the entertainment and gossip blogs, then you’ll know Toke Makinwa is back in the news.

This time around she is being accused of sleeping with a Nigerian billionaire, Festus Fadeyi and apparently ‘squandering’ money he borrowed for his company Pan Ocean Corporation from Skye Bank Nigeria.
The gossip attributes her new bag line, her N50 million 2016 Range Rover and her growing collection of designer bags and accessories to him.

What is particularly disappointing about all the gossip milling around Toke Makinwa and Festus Fadeyi is not the fact that they are purportedly sleeping together, it is that Makinwa is being cast as some kind of Jezebel who has bewitched Fadeyi and is ‘using’ him for his money. Fadeyi’s children who are purportedly behind the rumours have asked that Makinwa leave him alone so he can service his debts and stop using the profits from his business to service her whims.

First of all, it is nobody’s business if Toke Makinwa is actually in a r…

President Buhari describes APC as Oyegun's party

The President made his position known while acknowledging dignitaries that attended the event before his remarks

So, finally President Muhammad Buhari has reacted to the resignation of All Progressives Congress, APC chieftain, Atiku Abubakar on Friday last week.

Although this would not be in the way you expect it, the President’s reaction came with some sympathy to the party’s leadership.

On Monday, the President sympathised with the National Chairman of the ruling APC, John Oyegun, over the exit of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar from the party.

Buhari chose the venue of the inauguration of the Ama Pepple-led National Minimum Wage Committee to convey his heart-feltsympathy.

The President made his position known while acknowledging dignitaries that attended the event before his remarks.

Turning to Odigie-Oyegun, Buhari said, “Accept my sympathy for losing a senior member of your party.”

Although he did not mention a name, it was obvious that the President was referring to Atiku.

President Buhari is watching while Nigerians are being killed in Libya

What is the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari doing to stop or wade into the killing of Nigerians in Libya? The other day, it was South Africa. Up till today, no one has been held accountable for the heinous crimes against the Nigerian residents in South Africa.

Unaccountable number of Nigerians were heinously killed in South Africa only for APC governor in Buhari’s administration to compensate fouled Jacob Zuma with the Status of Shame! This is a common situation in an abnormal situation in Nigeria. Our system adequately compensates evils with veneration and generosity, while good people are rewarded with evil deeds and degradation.

Yesterday, it was South Africa, today, it is Libya. Tomorrow where? This is an unending question whose answer can easily be predicted. Nigeria had in the past played crucial roles to help brotherly African countries including Southern Africa and Libya. Why is our country being compensated with killings and maiming? The videos surfacing on soci…

Igbo Presidency: Atiku plans one term, to back Igbo Pres. In 2023

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar would do a single term of four years if elected president of Nigeria on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2019 and support a successor from the South East in 2023, sources close to him has told

Although Atiku officially neither has declared for the PDP nor for the Presidency, it is believed that the plan for a single tenure is part of his game plan to woe the South East of Nigeria.

The source who would not want to be named since he is not authorized to speak on the political strategies of the former Vice President told that the decision by the Turaki Adamawa to seek just one term is hinged on his desire for equity, fairness and justice.

According to the source, the former Vice president is “pro Igbo presidency and would do all it takes to make that happen in 2023. He is not power hungry as some may want to believe.”

“Atiku believes in fairness, equity and justice. It would be amounting to …
