PDP more Democratic than APC - Senate Umaru Sani

People's Democratic Chieftain in Kaduna Umaru Sani has described Peoples Democratic Party PDP as more Democratic than All Progressive Congress APC.

He disclosed this when he participated in DITV/ Alheri Radio Hausa Weekly Programme Babban Gammo aired on Saturday as monitored in Kaduna.

He explained further that APC as a party failed to fulfil most of its campaign promises made to Nigerians.

" They keep making promises which they failed to fulfil. Two years after elected into power they are yet to organize National convention. They are afraid to do that because they know what will happen to the party.

" You can see PDP come December will hold its National Convention where National leaders will be elected to lead the party. This show we are more democratic than the APC," he said.

Umar further added that PDP is the only party that abide by  tenets of democracy and good governance in the country.

He assured party loyalists that as delegates they will ensure that only an honest and sincere person will be elected as Chairman of the  p‎arty at the December 9 National convention in Abuja.

‎On former Vice president Atiku Abubakar resigning from APC, Umar said " we will gladly welcome him back to PDP with open hand because he has been part of us," he said.

‎He also said there would be no automatic ticket for the former Vice president in case he decides to join the party.

Heavy Defection hits APC

Barring any change, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) may be hit by mass defection, in the next few months.

Daily Sun gathered that some APC governors, senators and members of the House of Representatives are seriously dissatisfied with events in the ruling party.

Some of them are said to have cut a deal with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with a view to joining the opposition political party.

This is coming at a time the PDP has declared that its platform was open to all Nigerians to actualise their dreams of contesting elections.

But reacting, National Publicity of the APC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, told Daily Sun that the party won’t want to react to such information when no name of any governor or chieftain was mentioned.

However, competent sources among those who attended the PDP’s recent National Working Committee (NWC) meeting in Asaba, Delta State capital, revealed that top APC members, who will defect may join the PDP latest by May.
